Working Outside This Summer? Prioritize Safety and Stay Prepared

June 26, 2025

With high temperatures, humidity, and intense sun, summer conditions can take a real toll on those working outdoors. Whether you're on a construction site, in landscaping, or doing any kind of physical labor outside, staying safe in the heat isn't optional, it’s essential.

At Roebuck Staffing, we know how hard our crews work. Heat-related illnesses like heat exhaustion and heat stroke can come on quickly and affect anyone, no matter how experienced or tough they are.

A few key reminders to help protect yourself and your team:

  • Stay hydrated. Drink water throughout the day, even if you’re not thirsty.
  • Take breaks. Step into the shade or a cooler area when you can. Short, regular breaks help prevent overheating.
  • Dress for the heat. Light, breathable, and protective clothing can make a big difference.
  • Look out for your crew. If a coworker seems off, dizzy, lightheaded, confused, check in. Reacting early can prevent serious problems.

We trust the people we place to get the job done, and we encourage you to take care of yourself and each other while you’re at it. Safety is part of the work, not separate from it.

Keep up the good work and stay safe this summer.
